International Bulk Journal (IBJ) Awards
On 20 November 2023, OMC is named the winner of the ‘Special Achievement Award’, at the awards ceremony in London. The Special Achievement category is selected by the International Bulk Journal editorial panel to recognise an organisation celebrating a notable achievement or milestone. This year marks the 30th anniversary since the first implementation of a Dynamic Under Keel Clearance System.
The 2023 AFR BOSS Best Places to Work
On 20 April 2023, OMC is honoured to be recognised as one of the Australia and New Zealand’s Best Places to Work, ranking second on the Tech Industry list, from over 700 nominated organisations.
The 2022 Bulk Handling Awards
On 25 August 2022, OMC is named winner of the ‘Excellence in Transport and/or Conveying’ award for technology that moves bulk solids materials from one location to another, with DUKC® technology being recognised at the awards ceremony in Melbourne.
The 2021 DCN Awards
On 17 February 2022, the Port Authority of New South Wales is highly commended in the ‘Supply Chain & Innovation’ category for excellence or innovation in the supply chain. This is based on the successful implementation of a standardised approach in predictive under keel clearance technology across all its ports.
Governor of Victoria Export Awards
On 29 October 2021, OMC International is named as the the winner of the ‘Advanced Technology Award’ for outstanding international success in the field of information technology (IT), digital technologies, software, hardware or digital services, including solutions utilising cloud based platforms, artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT, augmented /virtual reality and/or blockchain.

On 14 December 2020, it is announced that RAK Ports, for Saqr Ports, is the winner of the ‘Intelligent Shipping Award’ for optimising port operations with DUKC®.
Lloyd's List Global Awards
On 11 December 2018, it is announced that OMC is the runner-up of the ‘The China Merchants Port Holdings Innovation’ Award at the awards ceremony in London.

On 22 November 2018, it is announced that OMC is the winner of the ‘Supply Chain Innovation & Technology’ Award at the awards ceremony in Sydney.

On 20 November 2018, OMC is named the winner of the ‘Support Service Provider of the Year’ Award for the Port of Lyttelton (NZ) dredge optimisation project at the awards ceremony in Amsterdam.

On 27 June 2018, at the IHMA awards ceremony in London, OMC is named the Inaugural winner in the ‘Safe, Efficient & Secure Port’ category in conjunction with Pilbara Port Authority.

On 16 November 2015, OMC’s maritime technology wins the 2015 International Bulk Journal (IBJ) Safety in Bulk Handling (Marine) Award, announced at a dinner in Antwerp.
Member (AM) of the Order of Australia
On 8 June 2015, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, Dr Terry O’Brien is appointed a Member (AM) of the Order of Australia for “significant service to maritime engineering, to the development of innovative marine navigation equipment and to education”.

On 6 May 2015, at an awards ceremony dinner in London, OMC is named Runner-Up in the 2015 Seatrade ‘Innovation in Ship Operations’ Award for its web-based DUKC® Series 5 system.
Australian Maritime Hall of Fame
On 19 November 2012, OMC Executive Director Dr Terry O’Brien AM is inducted into the Australian Maritime Hall of Fame for “making an outstanding contribution to Australia’s maritime industry”.
