TransitAnalyst: End-of-Year Update

TransitAnalyst was a hot topic of discussion at the recent AMPI conference in Adelaide, November 2025.

December 2025 marks five years since the very first transits were created in TransitAnalyst, which was launched amidst the uncertain days of Covid-19 restrictions. What began as a practical response to challenging conditions has grown into a valued tool for mariners around the world.

Growth continues at a strong and steady pace. In 2025 alone, TransitAnalyst usage has approximately doubled once again, with an associated doubling of registered users, analysed transits, and raw AIS data. The production database is now approaching an impressive three billion AIS data points, a testament to the scale of adoption. This equates to approximately 1,000 vessel-years of data in the system.

On the product development front, 2025 has been a year of consolidation. The year has seen a major user interface update, designed to make everyday use clearer, faster, and more intuitive.

Looking ahead, 2026 will bring major backend improvements, focused on performance, flexibility, and preparing TransitAnalyst for the next phase of growth.

Thank you to all the professional mariners, pilots, analysts, and organisations who continue to use, challenge, and improve TransitAnalyst. We wish you fair winds, well-executed manoeuvres, and a safe and collaborative 2026.
