Our company is growing rapidly, and we are looking for a talented individual to join our Delivery and Service (Consulting) Department.

Working at OMC will enable you to develop expertise and experience in the following fields:

  • Shipping and port operations
  • Hydrodynamics and coastal processes
  • Environmental and weather sensors
  • Weather and metocean forecasting
  • Hydrographic survey data and bathymetric analysis
  • GPS and Inertial Measurements Unit (IMU) systems
  • Geospatial and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Data processing and analysis
  • Coding and scripting, particularly with Python and Matlab®

Previous experience in any of these fields will be viewed favourably.

OMC is a family owned and operated company, with approximately 50 employees. We maintain a friendly and relaxed environment with regular social activities and events. OMC values diversity in the workplace and our staff are from a wide range of backgrounds. Your role will require occasional travel, domestically and abroad. Most work is office based, but there are opportunities for on-site field work at ports and on board ships.

A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or Naval Architecture with a high level of academic achievement is required. Honours or Masters degrees, or additional qualifications in other fields, will be highly regarded. You must have the right to work in Australia by being a citizen, permanent resident or holding a valid Employment Visa.

OMC encourages participation in the Engineers Australia Professional Development Program to attain Chartered Status. OMC also encourages continued training and study for all employees, and will work with you to develop a custom career development program.

The position is full time with a 6 month probation period. Attractive remuneration will be offered to the successful applicant.
