2025 Conferences

OMC International’s 2025 conference programme took the team across Australia, New Zealand, Asia, the Middle East and North America, contributing to global discussions on maritime safety, operational efficiency and digital transformation. Across these events, OMC presented new research, practical case studies and emerging technologies shaping modern port and pilotage operations.

A major focus this year was the application of real-time decision-support tools, optimisation technologies and advanced analytics to enhance safety and reduce environmental impact.

Highlights included presentations from Dr Burak Uslu on new modelling on tsunami impacts for Port Hedland, Rowan Murcott speaking on the AI-driven air-draft breach detection system developed with Ports Victoria, and Brendan Curtis sharing how digital optimisation can materially cut Scope 3 emissions at Fremantle Ports. Advances in route planning and data-enabled pilotage were also showcased through TransitAnalyst® demonstrations and updates on the evolving S-421 route-exchange framework by Captain Warren Wood at the AMPI Regional Conference in Adelaide, Australia.
